How can I add a list?
After you've logged in, just click on "add new list." As soon as you choose to "enable" your new list, it will be available for an admin to approve and will be moved to an appropriate category. Until then, you can play it and send the link to your friends. It just won't go public until it's approved and categorized by an admin.
How long will I have to wait for my list to be approved?
Not too long at all--morning if you created your list in the middle of the night. Otherwise, a few hours, tops.
Why is there only one box for some lists but multiple boxes for others?
There are two types of listStuff lists: Standard lists and Ordered lists.
Ordered lists require entries in a certain order, for example, when listing US presidents.
Standard lists simply require that each item be listed, in no particular order. For example, when listing each of the US states.
What kind of lists are not allowed?
Most importantly, we ask that there be no subjective lists. For example, a "Sexiest Women" list would not be allowed, but a list of "Winners of People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive, 1986-2008" would be. Also, since kids come here, that's about as risqué a list as we'd allow to be public--let's keep it (halfway) educational people!
I'm looking at a list with some glaring errors/omissions--how can I fix it?
Unless you created that list, you cannot alter it. You can, however, leave a message for the author in that list's comments section. If the author hasn't logged in recently, you can email us at admin@listStuff.org with your suggestion/addition/ correction. Please include a halfway reputable link that supports your change.
I created a list the other day, and when I came back, I saw that there were some changes to it. What gives?
Sometimes, before a list goes public, we'll polish up the wording a bit, maybe add a few alternate spellings, etc. It's nothing personal--just us wanting to keep the lists somewhat uniform.
I have a great idea on how to improve liststuff, wanna hear it?
Sure, send us an email--we'd love to hear from you. We can be contacted at admin@listStuff.org
